Fort Lauderdale Magazine says, “The Concept is Simple…”
Fort Lauderdale Magazine just launched last month, and we are loving the look of this new local publication!
FL Mag sent one of their writers in to scope out JustAir and get a blowout (she chose Just Curls), and here’s what she had to say:
“When I visited for a treatment, I asked stylist Aisha to do what she thought would work best. With her hair shaped into a hip, asymmetrical set of waves, I felt comfortable allowing Aisha to play creative director with my own look. We made small talk as she carefully dried my hair in sections and asked questions about how I usually style my fine, straight-as-a-stick strands. Based on what she picked up on my personality and lifestyle during our conversation, Aisha gave me a bouncy, girl-next-door blow dry with just a hint of curl. It was unfussy and fresh – just right.”

JustAir on SouthFlorida.com
Everyone needs a Gay Boyfriend, and Rod Hagwood is ours. Sure, we have to share him with the rest of South Florida, but we loved catching up with him last week to do an interview for the recently launched site, SouthFlorida.com, a spinoff of Sun Sentinel.
Here’s what Mr. Hagwood had to say:
“What’s a busy woman to do during the holiday season?
Let’s say there’s no time for a hair salon visit, but you have a desperate need to look F&F (fierce and fabulous). The answer is a blow-dry only bar where your coiffure and cut are freshened up starting at $35.”
AND…We’ve got a full holiday line up events, and we loved sharing them with the readers of SouthFlorida.com.
Check out our holiday schedule!

Once, a guy walked into Just Air and asked if he could get a hair cut…
That’s the headline to Nila Do’s review of her fabulous blowout at Just Air. While Nila is the current Editor of Gulfstream Media Group, she also writes for her personal blog, Slightly Unedited.
Here’s what she had to say about her experience at JustAir…
“Opened earlier this month, customers can walk out the door with Kate Middleton-like hair for just $35. Just Air co-owners Nicole Conner and Brooke Gettler studied studios like Dallas’ Drybar, perhaps the nation’s pioneering blow bar, to understand what makes customers most happy. The result? A posh blow-out bar that lives up to its motto: Breeze In. Blow Out.”

Blow dry bar breezes into Fort Lauderdale
Thanks so much to South Florida Business Journal for featuring our opening!
Here’s a quick clip from their article!
“How do you achieve the perfect blowout? And I’m not talking about electricity or retail sales.
Two friends, Nicole Carner and Brooke Gettler, have partnered to answer that question with their blow-dry bar concept in Fort Lauderdale.
Unlike other hair salons that offer full-service cut and color, JustAir specializes in one thing: helping local women achieve polished, great-looking hair. Blowouts take 45 minutes and cost $35.”

Boca Mag says “A Good Hair Day Is a Breeze”
Recently we had the privilege of meeting Jo Peswani, a blogger for BocaMag.com and her own personal blog, The Idea Is In. We were so lucky to catch her on a trip back to South Florida, as she recently relocated out of the sunshine state.
Jo came in for a signature JustAir blowout, and here’s what she had to say about her her experience:
“Other than facing the mother of all feminine dilemmas of what to wear on special occasions, often what hair to wear is the next in line. Take last week for instance; we had to choose what tresses to sport for an early afternoon waterfront wedding. Battling between extremes of too casual and too formal, we finally found the obvious answer sipping champagne in a dry bar.”

J’Adore JustAir!
One of our first customers was blogger, Maria, from J’Adore Glamour. She came for a blowout and decided on “Just Curls” for her style.
Here’s what she had to say about her experience:
“I enjoyed my visit to JustAir. I walked into a beautiful establishment and was greeted by the friendliest of staff. I was even offered a complimentary glass of champagne (now that’s my kinda place!). I chose Just Curls off the menu because I love extra bounce and curl in my blow out. I’m also a big fan of Duchess Kate and I adore her bouncy blow out signature coiffure. I think JustAirdid a great blow out and I have to admit it’s been twelve hours since my visit and my hair is still voluminous and full of body. I’m definitely a happy customer.”

JustAir in the Sun Sentinel!
We were so excited when the Sun Sentinel caught wind of our new store opening up, and reached out to do an interview. We got to chat with reporter Ariel Barkhurst about the “blow dry Bar” phenomenon and talk about why we thought Fort Lauderdale was the perfect place to open JustAir.
Here’s a quick excerpt:
“At any of these shops, and at Just Air, customers pay $35 for a style from a menu that offers a stick-straight style, a voluminous look, a polished ponytail, an up-do and other styles.
Just Air’s looks are termed “Just Straight,” “Just Curls,” “Just Waves,” “Floating on Air” for volume and “Up in the Air” for an up-do, which is $75 rather than $35.
The shop will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sundays through Wednesdays and until 9 p.m. on Thursdays through Saturdays. Customers can buy espressos, cappuccinos and snacks, play with iPads hooked up to a bar waiting area, and receive complimentary wine or champagne..
South Florida might be a few years late on catching up with this trend, Gettler said, but it’s a perfect market for the blow out shop so there will surely be more opening.”
